Critical thinking is about the ability to collect and use information to make a reasoned judgment.

It usually involves looking at data sources, facts, expert advice and other information and research to make a reasonable conclusion by weighing the options and making a decision.

Critical thinking in the workplace is about sorting through the useful and less useful details to come up with a clear view of the idea that leads to an effective decision or solution to a problem.

Critical thinking skills are immensely valuable to employers because these employees often become high performers.

What’s in this course?

This online course covers the skills and knowledge required to understand the role of critical thinking in workplace and how to implement and develop critical thinking skills in the workplace.   This unit applies to those working under direct supervision who are developing basic skills and knowledge of critical thinking in preparation for working in a broad range of settings.

Online learners will cover:

1. Identification of key characteristics of critical thinking processes

2. Evaluation of situations in which critical thinking concepts are applied in the workplace

3. Study of the benefits of the application of critical thinking practices in developing solutions

At the end of this training, you will be asked to complete an online assessment.  The online quizzes will assess your skills and knowledge required to use a range of critical thinking techniques to identify and address limitations in workplace practices, ask questions to broaden understanding of task requirements and use various information sources to provide answers to proposed questions.

You will need to achieve 100% on the quizzes to be deemed as successful, and you will have unlimited attempts to achieve this.  Once you have attained this 100%, you will be awarded an IIBP Certificate of Attainment to add to your portfolio.
