When we talk of business software, we refer to the applications and tools we use and the technology supporting it. This can be things like customer databases, logistics and/or reporting tools and chat applications.

When used correctly these tools can help us complete our work faster, easier and with fewer errors. But used incorrectly, it can cause a host of unforeseen issues.

In this course we explore:

• Preparing technology

• Choosing software applications

• Ergonomics

• Checking and entering information

• Finalising files and documents.

What’s in this course?

Digital Literacy in Business

This online covers the skills and knowledge required to effectively identify, select and use available methods of digital communication in a workplace context. These methods may include email, instant messaging and other similar platforms.

The unit applies to those who use digital technology to communicate with relevant stakeholders. This will be particularly relevant to individuals in teams that work remotely. The individual will use a limited range of practical skills and fundamental knowledge in a defined context under direct supervision or with limited individual responsibility.

This course is broken up into three elements. These include:

1. Identify purpose and methods of digital communication

2. Implement procedures to send and receive digital communications

3. Assist with managing digital communications

At the end of this training, you will be asked to complete an online assessment.  The online quizzes will assess your skills and knowledge required to use digital technologies to communicate in a work environment.

You will need to achieve 100% on the quizzes to be deemed as successful, and you will have unlimited attempts to achieve this.  Once you have attained this 100%, you will be awarded the IIBP Certificate of Attainment to add to your portfolio.
